About Our Faculty
Margaret "Peggie" O'Neill, teacher of violin, viola and beginner piano, is also our
founder and director. She attended Hartt School of Music and the Mannes Conservatory in Manhattan, where she was a student and first assistant to Lilo Glick. She was principal violist in the New York Symphony, The Long Island Ballet Co. Opera On The Sound, and the Massepequa Symphony and was artistic director at the Eastern Suffolk School of Music. Since moving to
Florida,
she has done extensive free-lance work and is currently concert mistress
with the Indian River Pops.
Joachim Bischof, teacher of cello and double bass, has a masters degree in cello and psychology. He was principal cellist with the famed Dresden Philharmonic for 25 years, and a member of the World Orchestra. He has performed worldwide as an orchestral and chamber music player as well as soloist. He has won three international competitions and is the founding member of several international chamber groups. He is featured soloist on many
recordings and has soloed on many continents, establishing him in Europe as a virtuoso cellist. As a teacher, he was a Professor at the Budapest University, Hungary and has taught Master Classes in Russia, Germany and Japan. Since moving to Florida, Joachim has developed a large studio of students and is also on the Faculty at the Bach's Children Music School.
Rowdy
Carlton, artistic director and teacher of classical guitar, studied guitar with
internationally acclaimed guitar virtuoso, Constantinos Jaferis. He has
been on the faculty since 2004. Mr. Carlton is a charter member of the
Treasure Coast Classical Guitar Society.
Luis
Ernesto Rivera, teacher of the guitar, is originally from the
island of Puerto Rico. He completed his studies at the Music
Conservatory of Puerto Rico obtaining a bachelor’s degree in guitar
performance. During his years in the conservatory Mr. Rivera studied the
classical guitar with Alberto Rodríguez Ortiz, Leonardo Egúrbida, Luis
Enrique Juliá and Iván Rijos. He has participated in master classes with
internationally known artists such as: Carlos Barbosa-lima, Benjamin
Verdery, Carlos Pérez, Eladio Sharron and José Antonio López. He has
performed in the National Classical Guitar Competition in Mayaguez
Puerto Rico, The Art Museum of Puerto Rico, XII international Book Fair
Of Puerto Rico and La Fortaleza, (The Fortress) in the current official
residence of the Governor of Puerto Rico and the oldest executive
mansion in the New World. Mr. Rivera Currently lives in Port Saint
Lucie, Florida where he performs, gives classes and is a charter member
of the Treasure Coast Classical Guitar Society.
